Embrace Life Joyfully.

Building awareness is one of the first steps a coach might take with a new client.

Are you feeling overwhelmed right now or feeling that nothing is working right for you? Take out a piece of paper and make a list of the 10 things bugging you. It might be that faucet that keeps leaking or the button on your jacket that's barely hanging on. It might be the bills that keep coming or finding out how much your interest charges just went up. Make up that list and if you can write down more than 10, that's great. Sometimes we become so used to the little things that bug us that we just let them keep soaking up our energy. Writing the list is the AWARENESS part, now comes the ACTION part. Today find one item on your list and take care of it. Don't worry about the whole list. Just complete one item such as sewing on that nagging button. Cross that item off your list. Each day try to add 3 more things to your list and then complete 1-2 items. Each time you cross something off your list you should start to notice a lightness--a happiness beginning to spread through you. For most people, crossing easy to complete items off the list tend to make it easier to begin completing and crossing off the more difficult items from the list.

For many people not having enough money or love or friends might be a difficulty. AWARENESS comes from finding out what is already in their life. The ACTION is to make a Gratitude Poster or notebook. A poster is nice because it is hung on a wall where it will be a constant reminder of all that you are grateful for. To begin your list write down 25 or more things that you are grateful for. These could be things like having a house, food in the kitchen, or running water. They could be people in your life that support you, make you think, or show their love for you. You could list items such as sunrises or sunsets, rivers, flowers or pets. Everything that makes you glad or happy will eventually find its way to the list. Each day at about the same time read your list out loud, listen to how it sounds to you and how it makes you feel. Then sit down and write 5-10 more items. For most people, writing this list brings an awareness of what already fills their daily lives. You might be pleasantly surprised to find the very thing (more love, joy, or money) either already in your life or becoming part of your life. When you find it, make sure you add it to your Gratitute poster or list. Gratitude Power Ebook
